The Światowid Cinema nominated to the Polish Film Institute Award
The Polish Film Institute announced the list of the nominated to the 10 edition of the Award for significant achievements in popularizing and promoting Polish cinema as well as facilitating the access to the Polish film production. The Światowid Cinema received the nomination in the Cinema category.
The Światowid Cinema in Katowice is the one out of three best cinemas in Poland to be nominated to the Polish Film Institute Award. It is the first such nomination for the Światowid Cinema.
Established in 2008, the PISF awards are a special distinction in the film industry, appreciating the work of people and institutions unrelated to the production of films. The candidates may be nominated by cultural institutions, film schools, local government authorities, cultural non-governmental institutions and other entities operating in the cultural sector. The awards are given for activities in the previous year in the following categories: Cinema, Film Event, Promotion of a Polish film abroad, Film Criticism, Broadcast or Film Program, Film Journalism on the Internet, Film-related Book, Film Education, Distribution of the Polish Film, Film Discussion Club , Digital Reconstruction of the Film, Film Poster (this year the nomination was not granted).
This year, the PFI Award gala is taking place on 19 September during the 42 Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.
