Rialto Cinema nominated for the PISF awards
The Polish Film Institute announced the list of nominees for the 11th edition of its awards, dedicated to rewarding exceptional efforts in promoting and propagating Polish cinema and enabling easier access to Polish films. The Rialto Cinema in Katowice received a nomination in the Cinema category.
Katowice’s Rialto Cinema was nominated to the Polish Film Institute awards as one of three best cinemas in Poland. This is the first such honor for the Rialto Cinema. Last year, a nomination in this category went to the Światowid Cinema.
The Polish Film Institute’s awards were created in 2008 in order to show appreciation for the efforts of many individual cinema enthusiasts and organizations working outside of film production. The candidates are submitted by cultural institutions, film schools, local governments, non-government cultural institutions and other entities working within the cultural field. The awards are given for operations and activities over the past year in the following categories: Cinema, Polish Film Event, International Promotion of Polish Cinema, Film Criticism, Film Book, Film Education, Polish Film Distribution, Film Club, Film Poster.
The awards ceremony will take place during the 43th Gdynia Film Festival. Detailed information can be found on the Polish Film Institute’s website. Sincere congratulations to all nominees!
