The exhibition, prepared as part of the jubilee of the 15th anniversary of the Silesian Film Fund, presents selected films co-produced by the Silesia Film Institute, made in the Silesian Voivodeship thanks to co-financing from the Silesian Film Fund – an innovative tool for financing films by the Silesian Voivodeship.

In 2023, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the operation of the Silesian Film Fund – a tool used to finance film productions carried out in the Silesian Voivodeship as well as ones thematically associated with it. The Silesian Film Fund, run by the Silesia Film Institute, was established in 2008, becoming the first fund covering the area of the entire voivodeship and only second such initiative supporting film productions in Poland. Between 2008 and 2022, the Silesian Film Fund co-financed 83 productions which, having won awards at the most important film festivals and earning recognition among both the critics and their audiences, forever entered the landscape of Polish and world cinematography.

Nearly 4 million people watched films supported by the Silesian Film Fund in Polish cinemas.

Thank you for being with us!

The “Filming Locations Trail” exhibition may be seen in Katowice between 1 April and 3 May 2023 and from 22 May to 30 September 2023.
